Industrial Ultrasonic Humidifier Commissioning Checklist
Commissioning is the point where the humidifier, room airflow, water supply and control sensor are tested as one system. A machine can pass a factory test and still need adjustment on site because the duct, ventilation and process load are different.
Before applying power
- Confirm the model, voltage and frequency against the rating plate.
- Check protective earth and the dedicated circuit protection.
- Verify that the water inlet, drain and overflow are connected and supported.
- Remove packing material and confirm that no outlet or air inlet is blocked.
- Check that the humidifier is level and the casters are locked.
Fill and inspect the water system
Open the inlet valve slowly. Watch the tank fill and confirm that the inlet stops at the normal operating level. Inspect the hose, valve, filter housing, tank and drain fittings for leaks.
Operate the manual drain if fitted, then refill. This confirms both the water-level system and the maintenance drain before the unit enters service.
Check the fan and mist path
Start the unit at low output. Confirm that the fan starts, airflow reaches the intended outlets and no unusual vibration or rubbing noise is present. For ducted systems, inspect every joint and branch before increasing output.
When atomization is stopped, confirm whether the fan continues its normal purge period. This clears residual mist from the cabinet and duct.
Verify each operating mode
Test manual mode first because it gives the operator direct start and stop control. Then test humidity mode with a temporary setpoint close to the current room RH so the start and stop response can be observed without waiting for a large humidity change.
If timer mode is used, enter a short work and stop interval for the test. Restore the approved operating values before handover.
Check the mist-output adjustment
Turn the output control gradually from minimum toward maximum while observing the water surface, outlet and duct. The change should be smooth enough for practical adjustment. Stop increasing if visible droplets are carried into the duct or the room cannot absorb the mist.
Verify the humidity sensor
Compare the displayed RH with a calibrated portable meter near the sensor. Then take readings at the main process area and the far end of the room. A difference between locations may require better air distribution rather than a new controller setting.
Do not calibrate the sensor while it is exposed to direct fog or immediately after moving it from a different temperature.
Run the system through a full control cycle
Allow RH to rise to the upper limit and confirm that atomization stops. Check the fan purge and observe whether room RH continues to rise from residual moisture. Then allow RH to fall to the lower limit and confirm restart.
Record the actual switching values. If the room overshoots, check sensor position, output setting and air mixing before narrowing the control differential.
Inspect for condensate near the final RH
Condensation often appears only after the room is close to target and evaporation has slowed. Inspect the duct, outlet area, ceiling and cold surfaces at this stage. Correct low points and reduce output where needed.

Explain routine checks to the operator
The handover should cover water quality, filter inspection, tank cleaning, scale removal, drain operation and the signs of weak mist or unstable water level. Operators should know when to stop the unit and contact maintenance rather than repeatedly resetting it.
