Mist maker service life depends less on a calendar date than on water quality, operating depth, cleaning practice, heat dissipation and the number of hours the module runs each day.
Two identical modules can have very different service lives. A module using low-mineral water at the correct depth may run reliably for a long period. The same model in hard water, with frequent dry running or poor ventilation around the power supply, can require service much earlier. For OEM equipment, maintenance access should be designed before the first prototype is built.
The ceramic disc is the main wear item. Seals, cables, connectors and the power supply age for different reasons. A maintenance plan should therefore separate cleaning, visual inspection, electrical checks and disc replacement instead of treating the module as a single disposable part.

Mineral deposits gradually cover the disc and force the system to work harder for the same output. Low-TDS water reduces this load. Where tap water must be used, build in a realistic cleaning schedule and make the atomizer removable without dismantling the whole machine.

Disconnect power before service. Use a soft brush and mild acidic descaler suitable for mineral deposits. Do not use screwdrivers, abrasive pads or strong chemicals on the ceramic surface. Rinse thoroughly and make sure electrical connectors are dry before restarting.
Replacement is usually justified when the ceramic surface is cracked, output remains low after cleaning and voltage checks, the housing or seal is damaged, or repeated faults create unacceptable downtime.
